Another Always Card

Made another card using the Always stamp set from Stampin' Up. This time I switched up the designer paper a bit but still used the Le Jardin collection.

Always

Here's a card made with one of my new favorite stamp sets, "Always", from Stampin' Up. The first time I saw this stamp set in the current catalog I wasn't too sure I liked it but then I saw a few cards made with it that changed my mind.

For this card I stamped the images with versamark ink and embossed them with black embossing powder. I used designer paper from the Le Jardin collection from Stampin' Up. I mounted everything on Basic Black cardstock and then mounted to River Rock cardstock. Didn't quite punch my holes for the black eyelets perfectly but still thought the card turned out well. Very easy card to make but impressive look I thought.

Hope you enjoy!

A Little Birdie Told Me..........

Finally took a picture of the one other card we made at our March workshop. I just love this Little Birdie Told Me stamp set from Stampin' Up. And those ribbon slides from Stampin' Up's new hodgepodge hardware kit is so cool. I got to thinking that the Copic markers which are alcohol based might work well to add color to the ribbon slide so I gave it a try and it worked fantastically! Hope you enjoy the card.

Candyce's Recipes

At our last workshop Candyce whipped up some yummy food that everyone really enjoyed. Candyce was glad to share those recipes with us. I don't like crab but that Crab Bisque sure smelled good!

Pretzel Dip

1 egg
2 tablespoons vinegar
3 tablespoons sugar

Combine all ingredients in saucepan mixing well. Heat until mixture thickens, stirring constantly. The mixture will thicken quickly. Remove from heat.

Add:

1 – 8oz. cream cheese, softened
¼ cup green pepper, chopped finely
½ cup onion, chopped finely

Stir and chill –serve with pretzels

Crab Bisque

1 stick butter
1 bunch green onions chopped
2 cups half-n-half
2 cans cream of potato soup
1 can rotel
1 can whole corn (not drained)
8 oz Velveeta cheese – I usually add more
2 cans crap meat

Sauté onions in butter in a large stock pot. Add next five ingredients. Then add cheese. Once cheese is melted add crab meat (finely chopped shrimp may be substituted). Simmer 20 minutes.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars

1 cup sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup peanut butter
6 cups crisp rice cereal
2 cups (12 oz) semisweet chocolate chips, melted

In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup and peanut butter. Cook over medium-low heat until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from the heat; add cereal and stir until coated. Spread into a greased 13-in.x 9-in. x 2-in. pan; press lightly. Spread melted chocolate over bars. Chill.

March Workshop

Thought I'd post these cards we made at my March workshop real quick this morning. The frog card was cased from Michelle Force. and I got the idea for the little birdie card from Chris Smith. I'll also be posting another card we made once I take a pic of it. Our March hostess, Candyce, shared some yummy recipes with us which I will be posting later as well. Enjoy!

Color Blocking

This is a card I made this weekend using the Love and Happiness rub-ons from Stampin' Up. I like the Color Blocking technique on this card. It's a simple technique that allows me to use up some of those cardstock odds and ends I've been hanging onto and makes a fairly attractive card. I got the card layout idea from Julee Tilman's blog "Poetic Artistry". Julee has a link to a pdf file containing a sketchbook of some really neat card layouts.

I will be posting projects from my March workshop as soon as I get the pics taken.
